Partial request!

I got online tonight to post my query score card, but when my home page came up, my little Yahoo mail indicator showed that I had two new emails. One was an auto-response and the other? A partial request! Finally!

I'm excited but so incredibly nervous. It's out of my control, so I just need to do my very best and put it out there and let the chips fall where they may. I think I'm just afraid to get my hopes up.

BTW, the score card: 35 queries out, 11 rejections, 1 partial request.

About Me

I've wanted to be an author since I was a kid. I couldn't read books fast enough and loved writing stories. As an adult, I detoured into the field of nutrition for several years before rekindling my first and only true love: writing.

I'd been mulling over a story idea for a few years when I met someone at work who shared the same writing dream. Her encouragement and passion for the craft ignited something within me, and I was off and running (writing).

In 2012, armed with a polished and edited draft (or so I thought), I began the long, arduous process of researching and querying literary agents. After one full request (later rejected) and several other rejections and no-responses, I went back to the drawing board to edit my query letter and my manuscript ... a full request and rejection later, I'm on to something new.

And now ... with a second complete manuscript, I'm ready once again for the arduous task of requesting representation, which is at the same time completely overwhelming and wholly exciting.
